The Story Behind Fat Hide

Fat Hide started with family.

A few years ago, my grandson began struggling with severe dry skin and eczema flare-ups. At first, we did what most people do we trusted the products lining the shelves at every store and pharmacy. Creams, lotions, medicated ointments… if someone recommended it, we tried it.

Some products helped for a day or two. Most didn’t help at all.

As time went on, his skin became more irritated, more sensitive, and more dependent on products that never seemed to actually solve the problem. We even changed his diet after learning how closely eczema can be connected to gut health. We cut foods out, adjusted meals, tried cleaner eating and while some things improved, his skin still struggled daily.

That’s when I started digging deeper.

I spent countless nights researching ingredients commonly found in skincare products preservatives, synthetic fragrances, alcohols, fillers, petroleum-based ingredients things I had never paid attention to before. The more I learned, the more frustrated I became. Many products marketed for “sensitive skin” were still packed with ingredients that could further irritate already damaged skin.

I kept coming back to one simple idea:

What if skin heals better when we stop overcomplicating it?

That research led me to traditional tallow-based skincare.

For generations, people used simple animal-based fats to protect and moisturize dry skin long before modern skincare existed. Beef tallow closely resembles the natural oils our skin already produces, which made me wonder if simpler, more natural ingredients might work better than the endless list of chemicals we’d been using.

So I started experimenting.

Batch after batch.
Different textures.
Different ingredient combinations.
Keeping only what actually mattered.

No watered-down formulas.
No unnecessary fillers.
No complicated ingredient lists.

And slowly, we started noticing changes.

His skin looked calmer.
Less dry.
Less irritated.
More comfortable.

That journey became the foundation of Fat Hide.

What started as a mission to help my grandson turned into a brand built around one belief:

Skincare doesn’t need to be complicated to work.

Today, every Fat Hide product is made with carefully selected ingredients designed to nourish skin the simple way rich moisturizers, natural fats, and ingredients your skin can actually recognize.

Because sometimes the old ways still work best.
